How do we reach and influence as a people who have a passion for preschool ministry?
The definition of influence is to have the capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something.
It's hard when you're working with preschoolers, right? What's the eternal difference you're making when you're working with preschoolers? To be honest, most children won’t come to know Christ as a preschooler. How do we truly know if we are influencing?
My people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old—
3 things we have heard and known, things our ancestors have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.
5 He decreed statutes for Jacoband established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children,
6 so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.
This passage of Scripture tells us how you're reaching and influencing these preschoolers for Christ.
Every time you sit down with a 3 year old in a small group and you tell them the story of Moses and the burning bush, you're telling them that God can speak. You’re showing them His power and the wonders He's done. He spoke to Moses back then, and He speaks to us now. That's some praiseworthy deeds!
Every time you sing the old song “Jesus Loves Me” to the baby you're rocking, you're singing truth over them. You are teaching the next generation about the love Jesus has for us.
Every time you go over the Bible Verse in large group, you are helping them to hide God’s Word and commandments in their heart. You're teaching the next generation.
Every time you greet a family at the door with a friendly smile and a gracious attitude, you're investing in the next generation. You're telling that family, “I care that your family is here. I care about your child. We want to partner with you to help you teach your children about who Christ is and what He has done for us."
We are loving preschoolers from birth to 5 years old. We are influencing preschoolers and their families towards Christ. We are influencing parents to help them build a spiritual foundation in their preschooler.
Preschool leaders are influencers.
